Blooming en Español (BEE) is a Spanish immersion program serving families in Bristow, Gainesville, Haymarket, Nokesville, and the surrounding Western Prince William County area. We create engaging, hands-on experiences where Spanish becomes the language of play, friendship, and everyday discovery, not just a subject to study.

Our Semillitas and Raíces classes are generally designed for children ages 2–8. Our El Jardín playgroup is open to all ages, so younger siblings and older kids are all welcome to join. Siblings under 2 years old may also accompany a registering adult and their registered child at no additional cost.

• El Jardín (Playgroup) — Free, bi-weekly, unstructured free play open to all ages. No curriculum — just organic opportunities to hear and practice Spanish.
• Semillitas (Individual Class) — $35 for a single class. A great low-commitment way to try our curriculum-based immersion classes for the first time.
• Raíces (Monthly Membership) — $65/month for 2 classes per month. Our recurring membership for families ready to build consistency in their child’s language journey.

Registration is confirmed once we’ve received your completed registration form and payment. Space can be limited, so we may close registration once a class reaches capacity

We teach Latin American Spanish, reflecting the rich diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures across Latin America. Our BEE staff use Spanish as the primary language of play, instruction, and interaction whenever reasonably possible (about 80% Spanish, 20% English), so children can build confidence and familiarity without pressure.

Not at all! Families of all Spanish levels are encouraged to participate; you don’t need to be fluent (or know any Spanish at all) to support your child’s bilingual journey with us.

Not at all! Our program is built for children at every level, whether they’re hearing Spanish for the first time or already speak it at home. Everyone belongs here.

To create a warm, engaging, and personalized experience for every child, our Semillitas and Raíces classes are intentionally kept small, with no more than 10 students per session. This allows each child plenty of opportunities to participate, connect, and build confidence while learning Spanish.

Semillitas and Raíces classes currently meet on the first and third Thursday of each month, 4:30–5:30 PM (Eastern Time), at the Haymarket Museum (15025 Washington Street, Haymarket, Virginia 20169). El Jardín playgroups rotate to various locations around the Bristow, Gainesville, Haymarket, and Nokesville area. Join our WhatsApp group for specific meetup details.

Yes! Semillitas is designed exactly for this, it lets your family experience our immersion approach in a single class before deciding on a recurring Raíces membership.

Registration fees are based on a group rate and are generally non-refundable, unless BEE cancels the class. If a class fills up before we’re able to close registration in time, you can choose to be refunded or to transfer your registration to a different date.

We’re a family partnership at heart, so we ask that parents, guardians, or caretakers stay and participate throughout the session alongside their child. While our classes are designed to be developmentally appropriate for a range of abilities, the registering adult remains responsible for their child and for making sure they participate safely; it’s all part of learning and growing together.

For everyone’s health and safety, please keep your child home if they have a fever over 100°F that isn’t controlled by fever-reducing medication, uncontained diarrhea, vomiting more than twice in the past 24 hours, excessive coughing, or similar symptoms. Children should stay home until they’ve been symptom- and medication-free for at least 24 hours. If your child’s needs while sick would interfere with our ability to teach the rest of the class, we ask that you keep them home that day.

With at least 24 hours’ notice before a class date, we’ll do our best to help you reschedule. If your child (or you) shows signs of illness on the day of a class, we may ask you to leave for the wellbeing of the other children; in that case, that day’s class fee is non-refundable.

We strongly encourage you to share any allergies, accessibility needs, or accommodation requests during registration. We’ll make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual needs whenever possible.
